Application Guide

Pump Head Bottle Filling Capping Line

Pump head bottle lines need liquid filling, pump head feeding, pump head placing, tightening and optional labeling. The pump head design determines whether automatic feeding and orientation are stable.

Direct Answer

Recommended Machine Selection

Recommendation: For pump head bottles, the capping section should be designed around the actual pump head sample. A normal screw capping machine may not be enough because pump heads require orientation, placing and controlled tightening.

Machine Configuration Checklist

Use this table to confirm the main configuration before requesting a quotation.

AreaRecommended ChoiceWhy It Matters
FillingServo piston filling for lotion or shampooSelected by viscosity and filling volume
Pump Head FeedingVibratory bowl feeder or customized feeding systemDepends on pump head shape and stability
PlacingAutomatic pump head placingRequires accurate bottle positioning
CappingPump head capping or tightening systemTorque and head height should be confirmed
Not Recommended

Check These Limits Before Selection

  • Trigger sprayer caps or duckbill caps when the machine is only configured for pump heads
  • Pump heads with unstable orientation before sample testing
  • Bottles without enough neck stability for automatic pump head placing

Before Quotation

Please provide bottle size, bottle shape, cap type, liquid property, filling volume, label size, target speed and factory voltage. Photos or samples help engineers confirm the machine structure faster.

How To Validate A Pump Head Line Before Delivery

A pump head line should be tested with production-representative bottles, liquid, pump heads and labels. Measure sustained finished-bottle output rather than the maximum cycle speed of one machine.

Test With Real Samples

Confirm pump orientation, dip-tube handling, bottle positioning, fill accuracy, tightening consistency and label placement using actual packaging components. Test the smallest and largest formats when one line will handle several SKUs.

Record Operator Tasks

Document who loads bottles and pump heads, replenishes product, clears jams, changes formats and performs quality checks. This defines the real automation level and supports labor-saving calculations.

Agree Acceptance Criteria

Specify sustained bottles per minute, acceptable rejects, fill tolerance, cap security, changeover time and test duration before the FAT starts.

Plan Staged Automation

For smaller production, automatic filling with manual pump placement may be more economical. The conveyor and controls can be prepared for a future automatic feeder when volume increases.

Buyer Questions

Buyer Questions

Can pump heads be automatically fed and placed?

Yes, if the pump head design is suitable for bowl feeding or customized orientation.

Is a pump head capping line the same as a normal screw capping line?

No. Pump heads usually need orientation and placing before tightening, so the cap handling structure is different.

What samples are required?

Bottle, pump head, liquid sample and target speed information should be provided.

Can labeling be added after capping?

Yes, round bottle or flat bottle labeling can be connected after pump head capping.

Pump-Head Bottle Reference Configuration

Pump heads are not treated like ordinary screw caps. Feeding, orientation, tube control, placement and tightening are confirmed from physical closure and bottle samples.

Not a claimed customer caseThis is a route-specific reference configuration. Final station count, layout, speed, utilities and acceptance values are released from the buyer's samples, factory conditions and signed technical agreement.

FillingServo piston filling for lotion or shampooSelect from viscosity, filling volume, foaming behavior and cleaning requirement.
Pump feedingVibratory bowl or sample-matched feeding systemPump-head geometry, dip-tube length and stability define the feeder.
PlacementAutomatic pump-head placingAccurate bottle positioning and tube entry are reviewed with supplied samples.
CappingPump-head tightening systemTorque requirement, closure height and bottle support are confirmed before release.

Layout release

Power, compressed air, line direction, conveyor height, operator access and available footprint are confirmed before the general arrangement is approved.

Format and cleaning review

Required formats, change parts, recipe handling and cleaning steps are defined. Unspecified changeover times are not published.

Acceptance and handover

Samples, sustained output basis, inspection points, test duration, documents and training are agreed before the factory test.
